"If a person has control over any function, it can also be used to control the computer" Personally I have seen two other methods for the impaired that weren't mentioned in the wiki, that are still in their earlier stages, but could potentially offer a solution already, if we were to adapt current technology towards that purpose. Those two being eye trackers and brain wave readers.   Eye trackers are quite self explanatory, they are able to detect where you are looking and thus possibly giving input as a mouse by looking at certain things for a period of time combined with certain head movement. Could also be used as keyboard input the same way, having certain space to look at and repeating head motion to bring up a keyboard and type. I think this could potentially be faster and more effective, but the downside being that it's gonna cost more than a special keyboard or mouse would. Brain wave readers is probably not the best way to describe the technology, but did no

Week 12

Hacker's Ethics The hacker's ideals/ethics are very much applicable, the difference would have to be the skills and will of an individual. The higher skilled hacker's are gonna be more interested in the ordeal as a whole, making them be curious and creative by itself and what those skills would be used for is dependant on the will. Most likely it's going to be either for money or for completing projects, could also be for both. But the ideal that information should be free and that computers should be used for expressing creativity, freedom and offering solutions that never thought of before is without a doubt what computers should be used for. While being a hacker is a label that is controversial to some, in terms of how one becomes a hacker, the general ideals of a hacker are in place. Skills and attitude about the hacker's ideals is all you should need to define a hacker.

Week 11

Censorship There still aren't very good algorithms or bots that can scour videos or text properly to filter or outright "delete" content that by polocies should be censored either due to the audience possibly being young or for avoiding conflict and keeping the fires in control. Thus there are fair amount of biases or "favorism" to certain individuals when it comes to punishing people for not following proper censorship when they've agreed to do so. A good amount of cases are reviewed by people themselves and depending on the relationship or favorism the punishment can be little to none, compared to some others. For example on twitch there have been plenty of people saying racial slurs, even amongs the biggest streamers on the platform, but as some get strikes and bans from the platform permanently. The bigger streamers get much lenier treatment, assumably due to it being more damaging than benefitial for the platform owners to outright ban them from the we

Week 10

Security in Estonia Will be assessing security in estonia through the "Mitnick formula" Mitnick formula: - Technology: networks, firewalls, antiviruses... - Training: awareness of different attacks - Policy: set procedures and requirements Technology Depends on how needed is the cyber defence for certain systems, mostly counted by residual risk and how small it needs to be. If there is a need then implementations of good technology will take place. While most citizens don't take any extra measures that are already in place by default in their devices, the ones that do are either tech nerds or corporate employees. As a company owner you want to have methods to deal with cyber attacks so that the company wouldn't lose face or profits. Training Awareness of social engineering or cyber attacks is about the same as most other countries, if not a bit better, since Estonia is a quite tech oriented country, as an example online voting is a possibility in politics. Giving mo

Google glasses (2012) Google tried to appeal to the common public with the glasses, but the problem was that technology wasn't up to par with it's features and usablitiy compared to an average smartphone. Especially considering that having glasses that can potentially monitor your every action with an active camera made it an awkward gadget to be amongst people. Nobody would like their actions being recorder 24/7, thus making the design choice for the average person with similar use to the smartphone was a bad choice and the main reason for it's flop. However, in 2019 there have been found practical uses for such a device, mainly in working environments, where real time data needs to be accessed while having both hands full. For example, imagine working as a repair mechanic under a car and you see the cars blueprint or the issues location in 3D in-real time. It would make work faster and more efficient, especially for people who aren't that experienced or proficient. O

Week 8

IT Professionalism  While professionalism til this day is quite a vague expression, the base premise stays the same, that the person in question has the skills to back such a "title". It is estimated that is the difference in a knowledgable and skilled worker in a field and a professional is the communication between peers and others alike, in other words the addition of communication skills. Especially considering that professionalism is more like a title, given as a "compliment" by associates and has no precise criteria as a degree or the aquisition of a certificate would have. That would make "professionalism" more of a gained status in a working space, thus communication and presentation skills would be a necessity procurement. Seemingly in Estonia, the prerequisite for getting a job in an IT field, would be simply to have skills and proof for it. For example a bachelors degree, showcase of projects or events (e.g. Hackathon) that one has partaken in,

Help keep the flame wars under control I think the o ppenness and freedom of speech and thought is something that has been changed over time, as earlier days of the internet, it was still hard to grasp mentally how the cyberspace works and how little attachment it used to have to their personal lives. As there were no ties to their real life in earlier times of the internet, people were a lot more expressive or even exessive in voicing out their anger, maybe even "trolling" other's as a means of relief. Nowadays many social accounts are tied to eachother and a lot more info is put out on the internet, making it possible in some cases to track down the specific person behind an account or user that has commited a certain action. Thus people being a lot more respectful in general areas of the social platforms, but there are still sites where people use anonymous accounts to type or express unfathomable thoughts. However there are advantages of igniting a flame war to certai
